Throughout the past 20 years or so, the state of Texas has graciously gifted us a number of rappers who have since gone on to become some of the South’s greatest unsung heroes. The list includes UGK, Geto Boys/Scarface, Chamillionaire, DJ OG Ron C, Slim Thug, Z-Ro, DJ Screw, Devin the Dude and Riff Raff (just kidding).
Rising Hip-Hop artist T. Woods (who may, or may not be using Granville T. Woods, an African American inventor known as the Black Edison as an influential reference) wants in on the same lane. Proudly reppin’ Seguin, TX — a small city renowned as “one of the oldest towns in Texas” — the hungry emcee is aiming for the top spot.
Delivering his video for “Die Alone,” T. Woods “channels Addonis Creed” in the Dang Films-directed clip, the first visual offering from his upcoming debut, Unforgiven, due out this Summer. For those who reside in the Lone Star State, you can catch Woods performing in San Antonio (April 22nd), Dallas (June 9th) and his hometown of Seguin (June 11th).
