Red Eye – FATrick Ewing (Mixtape)

blame it on JES7 April 19, 2016

When Queens-born Master-of-the-Ceremony Red Eye initially made the announcement that he’d be releasing a new mixtape, titled FATrick Ewing this April, very few people would have guessed that the project would clock in at a staggering 27 tracks. The deep-cut mixtape may surprise most, considering that most mixtapes these days are more akin to EPs — but trust, every track is worthy of its inclusion.

As Red Eye puts it: “It’s not an album or mixtape… It’s more of a compilation of ill shit…” Sure, most all rappers will tout their product as the best, but Red Eye follows up on this promise by truly delivering some remarkable lyricism, with neck-snapping production to boot. You might want to call your chiropractor and make that appointment ahead of time.

There was a bit of foreshadowing of what was to come when the Orlando-based emcee delivered both “Hemperor’s Theme” featuring Mr. Cheeks (of Lost Boyz) and the Born Unique-assisted “Baddest MF,” and the other 25 cuts follow suit.
