theMIND – “Pale Rose” (Video)

blame it on Patrick Glynn April 19, 2016

theMIND is almost ready for his trip to Summer Camp.

The Chicago singer/producer is set to release his debut project this May. So far, he’s delivered his soothing “Mercury Rising” — with a fascinating claymation video to pair — and today, he debuts the project’s second sampling, “Pale Rose.”

theMIND’s described his upcoming project as “this cool little adventure that I created between me and this girl.” He delved a little deeper with Noisey, who premiered the video, about Summer Camp:

“I think throughout the project, it seems like she’s a love interest and then it turns into something else. But primarily it’s this whole adventure that I felt like I went on last year.”

If the video is any evidence, this trip to “summer camp” is going to wind up as a little bit more than just “a cool little adventure.” The visual details a group of women dancing their way around the city, hopping over railings to get on the subway, taking a diner worker’s hat and ditching on their meal before landing at a small show where theMIND is performing. Turns out, these women came to steal some wallets, and theMIND was in on it all along. This “little adventure” could turn into a damb youthful revolt.

The distorted sounds in “Pale Rose” are brought together by THEMpeople, a production group theMIND is a part of, and he does a good job minimally navigating and matching the emotions of the beat. Watch the video above.
