Monday night, Lil Wayne performed at the University of Louisiana Lafayette, the home of the Ragin’ Cajuns. Before he went on stage, a brief ceremony was held to honor Weezy with a key to the city because of his “philanthropic efforts” toward the city and the university. Naturally, the key was given to Wayne on a chain, so he could rock it during the concert — which was streamed on TiDAL.
Weezy joins a slew of artists to gets keys to cities, including Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Bryson Tiller and Foxy Brown. Although, none of them were given keys on a chain. So there’s an extra point for Wayne.
