Questlove‘s new book, something to food about: Exploring Creativity with Innovative Chefs, is set to land in stores next week. Essentially, it joins Questo’s love for food with his passion for creativity. And knowing creativity has no bounds, he looks at it through the lens of world-renowned chefs.
“In conversations with ten innovative chefs in America, he explores what makes their creativity tick, how they see the world through their cooking and how their cooking teaches them to see the world,” the Okayplayer website described the book. “The conversations begin with food but they end wherever food takes them. Food is fuel. Food is culture. Food is history. And food is food for thought.”
Last night, Questlove
stopped by stepped away from the drum set and onto the interviewee’s couch on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote the book. Pretty convenient, huh?
After working together for seven years, there wasn’t much small talk to be had, so the two kicked it like the friends they are. But when Questlove got to explained the influence behind the book, he delivered a pretty concise statement: “Whenever I talk to musicians, I don’t care about the music — I care about how they made it. I wanted to observe the same thing with chefs.”
