Blu and Union Analogtronics are set to release their LA Counting EP tomorrow, which features the title track and multiple remixes of it. One the remixes comes from frequent Blu collaborator and MPC master, Exile, which has now been liberated a day ahead of time. Where the original features melodic, bass-heavy synthesizers, Exile flips them in reverse to create a muddled and distorted soundscape for Blu to paint a portrait of his beloved city.
The Parisian duo and Blu are set to drop a full-length project, Cheetah In The City, later this year, so LA Counting is just small sampler of their upcoming work. It this already-crazy year of hip-hop, it’ll be nice to get a handful new projects from Blu. It only gets better from here.
