We finally have a release date for Khary‘s next project.

On May 17, the Rhode Island rapper will finally release intern aquarium, a project years in the making. Along with the announcement, Khary delivered a new single “2AM Thirst Ballad,” transforming a simple booty call into a full-blown celebration.

Going out on a limb at texting a flame at two in the morning — something every damn person reading this has done — Khary got a response, and he details the story with his late-night thirst ballad. She’s all the way in New Jersey, and he rarely leaves Brooklyn, so he needs a couple minutes to get to her crib. And the rest is a party.

“The song is an ode to those late nights when you just gotta shoot your shot and see what happens,” Khary explained in a press release. “Living in Brooklyn where the bars are open till 4am and everything is just a train or uber ride away I’ve had many of these. So I wanted to make a playful/epic song dedicated to the after hours booty call.”

Listen to “2AM Thirst Ballad” below, and get ready for intern aquarium, set to drop a week from today.
