Originally a resident of Bodymore, Maryland, Kane Mayfield recently made the wise decision to trade in the dreary, urban landscape of Clipper City for the sunny, blue skies of Daytona, Florida.
After releasing his Black Diamonds EP last year, Kane took a brief hiatus from releasing new music, although that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s halted recording of new material.
As a way to continue looping fans to his latest happenings, Kane has decided to liberate a doubleheader in the form of “G.I. Joe” and the thought-provoking loosie, “The World We Live In.” Hear both of them below.
I put out these two songs. One for fun (“G.I. Joe”) where I just rap and kick the living shit out of the beat, and the other (“World We Live In”) because the message is really important, ESPECIALLY with the current racial and political environment. Sometimes artists have an obligation to tell the truth and document history. Not all the time, but like.. once a year.
