Although we’re not particularly big fans of the Billboard Music Awards, we’re giving some shine on this year’s BBMA mainly for The Weeknd, who managed to score 19 nominations—including “Top Hot 100 Song,” “Top Song Sales Artist,” and “Top R&B Artist,” and “Top R&B Song.”
Rounding out the list with nominations of their own are Chris Brown, Bryson Tiller, Jermih, Drake, Fetty Wap, Future, Wiz Khalifa, Dr. Dre, Meek Mill and Kendrick Lamar—who was nominated for “Top Rap Album.”
Below, Rihanna performs her hit single “Love On the Brain” off her eighth studio album, Anti.
Before the award show came to a close, Questlove stood front and center of the packed T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas to give a stirring tribute about Prince before introducing Madonna, who performed covers of “Nothing Compares 2 U” and “Purple Rain” with Stevie Wonder.
