Seattle-based rapper Donte Peace drops off a new song that features some thought-provoking social commentary that is sorely missing from most of the mainstream artists who claim to be the voice of our people.
If you can get past the song’s auto-tuned chorus — and honestly, it’s a smart tactic employed by Donte, considering today’s youth are only interested in voice modulated tracks and mumble raps — there’s an important message being relayed that touches on being able to separate one’s self from a shitty environment which seems to be swallowing great, young men and women everywhere, police brutality and racism.
