Vic Mensa recently caused waves for not only his politically-charged Roc Nation debut, There’s A Lot Going On, but for social media “controversy,” where he blacked out Chance the Rapper in a picture with him, Beyoncé, and Jay Z.

Combine that with a recent freestyle with the LA Leakers where it appeared he was taking shots at Chance and it’s all the internet needs to confirm an issue.

According to Vic, though, beef isn’t on the menu. Speaking to Real 92.3’s The After Party with Letty, Dre Sinatra, and DJ Damage, he somewhat cleared the air, saying he doesn’t have time for “beef” but feels “competition is healthy.”

“I know beef can get all complicated, but I really pride myself on, my entire life, having been a real straight up dude to everybody around me. I don’t do my people dirty. If somebody was wanting to beef with me, they wouldn’t have all that much ammo. They would have to start digging and making things up, ’cause i just keep it really, really, really real with my guys.”

UPDATE: Vic Mensa also stopped by Sway in the Morning to speak on police violence, the presidential race, and the tragedy in Orlando during the “5 Fingers Of Death” freestyle segment.
