After imploring his audience to “Listen To Jazz,” Your Old Droog follows with “White Rappers” — a song that brings up the idea of skin color and rapping and tries to champion it all in one.

“What matters is the beats and if the emcee goes in/It’s not about the color of your skin,” Your Old Friend hums on the hook, promptly going in over an uptempo, groovy boom-bap beat many rappers gung-ho on staying true to hip-hop’s roots would drool over.

Droog has a new album “coming soon,” and as long as he keeps rapping as he has — not that it’s the ultimate datum to be judged upon — there shouldn’t be a soul that cares about the color of his skin. Stream “White Rappers” below.
