The producer, who’s curated sounds for songs like Beyoncé and JAY Z’s “Drunk In Love” and Wiz Khalifa’s “We Dem Boyz,” claims Drake set him up to get punched by his bodyguard, Chubbs.
According to the lawsuit, Drake once offered Detail the opportunity to his executive producer around the time they worked together on their Nothing Was The Same collaboration, “305 To My City.” But as many have and many more will, he declined, TMZ says.
Fast forward the story to June 2014, where Drake invites Detail to his house in Calabasas. At 2 a.m., he’s met by Chubbs, who allegedly yells, “I will beat all your asses, including your bitches. I don’t give a fuck. I will hit you again. Do you think Drake is soft? You think Drake’s a punk.” Detail is then punched, breaking his jaw.
It’s not clear how much money Detail is suing for.
Detail last appeared on Big Sean and Jhené Aiko’s Twenty88 EP but hasn’t had much music released since 2014.
