Robert Glasper delivered one of the better projects of 2016 with his Miles Davis tribute album, Everything’s Beautiful. One of the project’s highlights was the Erykah Badu-guested “Maiysha (So Long),” and now the (2Dope) single gets a matching set of visuals.
The video, actually a short film “So Long…That’s What She Said,” is a play on the vintage “beatnik” performances of “variety shows” from the 50s and 60s. With Erykah playing an exaggerated, fake-accented version of herself, Sarah Bellam, the humorous video can be seen below.
