California rapper Ash Riser has kept a consistently busy schedule this year, having released two EPs across the span of 5 months; the first being HOME, and more recently, LATE PRAISE.
With no time to spare, the multitalented artist returns with yet another EP dubbed R.I.S.E., bringing with him a list of some of rap’s most high-profile producers. Metro Boomin, Zaytoven, Sonny Digital, TM88 and 808 Mafia all round out the sound design, with day one friends Waxx and Walt Grizzly standing in as the only features.
Ash reveals in the official press release:
“The only features are WAXX and Walt Grizzly who are the day one homies I’ve been rocking with for years now. We lived together in trap houses all over Los Angeles, really struggling. Where we are now as people and musicians is insane.
I wanted to attack the beats by these producers differently than anyone ever has, not just cadences but storytelling. I go into a side of my life I never talk about in my music – hustling, glorifying a lifestyle I’m constantly trying to escape.”
