Dox Black & Sirplus – World Class Time Travel (EP)

blame it on JES7 July 3, 2016

In between numerous stopovers, layovers and extended stays in cities across the country and even abroad, Northern Cali emcee Dox Black found some downtime when not politicking and building with new, potential networks to apply a few cosmetic touches of perfection on his new album, World Class Time Travel.

The 8-track EP Is a call back to the basics and foundation of the culture, with witty, unpredictable bars and bone-breaking production by Sirplus. As Dox states:

The World Class Time Travel EP is one part brilliant lyricism, and one part true production excellence. The result, is the creation of a timeless sound that is reminiscent of golden era boom bap mixed with progressive thinking and new wave mpc sound science. This collaboration is an amazing example of what happens when talented minds get together to shed light on a flourishing underground hip hop culture. And while both of these musical geniuses hail from the west coast (Dox from Nor-Cal/ Sirplus from So-Cal), they reflect an international sound that reaches way beyond their respective environments. The purpose of this project was to connect the passion that exists around the globe for authentic hip hop, with the talented people that still put meaning and soul into this artform. In a time where balance is what keeps the culture thriving, this side of the spectrum is one that your music library should not be without! So press play, get ready for take off, and have a great trip!
