Good luck with your career!

At this point, it’s difficult to sit here and write anything on rap’s supposed savior, Jay Electronica, without feeling some type of way. I mean, how many times have we been trolled and baited into thinking the messiah of this Hip-Hop sh*t would finally fold and offer us new music — anything — just to, you know, appease his legion of hardcore fans?

Instead, we had to suffer through watching Jay berate and threaten 50 Cent and Kendrick Lamar in a now infamous Periscope recording, translate said “threats” into a new song dubbed “The Curse of Mayweather,” and taunt us with even more new music we’ll probably never hear including an unreleased DOOM x Jay Electronica collaboration and a fresh, new cut which played in, of all things, a f*cking Toyota Avalon commercial.

Yet, we forgive him for infringing on our rights to hear new music whenever we want to. Because he’s supposed to be the rightful heir to the throne of this rap sh*t.

Okay, sarcastic banter aside, the mystical, enigmatic New Orleans emcee let loose some interesting tidbits on Twitter regarding his highly-anticipated upcoming album, tentatively titled Act II: The Turn before deleting said tweets (and ultimately, his entire Twitter account) in classic JayElec form.

“Every great magic trick consists of three parts or acts. The first part is called #ThePledge. The magician shows you something ordinary: a deck of cards, a bird or a M A N. The 2nd Act is called #TheTurn.”

It’s also important to note that the album — if it ever does actually drop — is slated to be a TIDAL exclusive (or maybe an “Apple Music exclusive” by the time it arrives), which brings us to our next interesting fact: when a fan revealed that he had only 40 days left on his TIDAL free trial, Jay responded “well you’re safe,” insinuating that, once again, if the album indeed is released, we should be expecting it at the very latest, the end of August.
