Dolphin – “Basic Life”

Baltimore artist Dolphin is one of the more talented, lesser-known enigmas that roll through the DopeHouse. First introduced via “Young Black Mind” — a single still relevant today, touching on the fruitfulness of black minds and, at times, their inability to blossom due to outside forces — returns today with “Basic Life.”

His most calming release yet, the dusty, soulful loops play below Dolphin’s muddled-yet-lovelorn lyrics, painting the simple scene of spending time with a love resulting in a basic and perfect life.

“Basic Life” will end up on Dolphin’s upcoming The Great Pretend project, which will drop soon via Fresh Selects. it’s also the A-Side of a digital 12-inch the label is dropping Friday. Stream the single below.
