So late last night I frequented one of my favorite non-music sites and was introduced to this viral video where MADEINTYO, Tory Lanez, Cam’ron, Ghostface Killah, Desiigner, Jazz Cartier, Flatbush ZOMBiES others were asked to give their thoughts on a rap video from a guy named “Rich Chigga,” called “Dat $tick.”
No seriously, the guy’s name is Rich Chigga. It’s a 16-year-old comedian/rapper who essentially made a rather catchy trap song, which at the time of this piece has notched over 3 million streams on Soundcloud.
For the most part the other rappers enjoy the song (because, once again, despite his appearance, the song is rather catchy), although 21 Savage is confused at the entire thing (and the look on Tory Lanez’ face is wild funny). However Chigga — née Brian Imanuel — insists that it is nothing more than a joke and shouldn’t be taken seriously.
In a world where Lil Dicky, who initially launched a comedy career before transitioning into rap (and recently became the latest artist to be managed by Scooter Braun), can find success in this lane, anything is possible.
