Vintage: Big Boi’s 2004 Tim Westwood Freestyle

blame it on Patrick Glynn July 21, 2016

Back in 2004, Big Boi and André 3000 just capped off the best five-album run in rap history by becoming the first rap group to win Album of the Year at The GRAMMYs. So saying the two felt on top of the world is probably an understatement.

Tim Westwood’s latest vintage freestyle session has Big Boi in the studio in said year just weeks after winning the GRAMMY — so the confidence is just about as high as it’ll ever be.

Recorded in with Henny and Coke in hand, Sir Lucious delivers bars over Jay Z’s “Encore” and Obie Trice’s “The Setup” for five minutes on the never-before-heard freestyle. Listen below.
