BagsTheBoss – “Right Now” (Video)

Born Angelid Melo to the parents of Dominican immigrants, New York emcee Bags the Boss serves as the Jean-Michel Basquiat of South Jamaica, Queens, pouring his life experiences onto a blank canvas that pops with bright colors, with brush strokes of bleakness that sometimes bleeds out onto the edges, the latter which represents the hardships of growing up in such a tough neighborhood.

Bags, who recently released his Young Jesus Christ EP, channels the legendary music this New York borough is known for — one which has produced acts such as Pharoahe Monch, 50 Cent, Canibus, ONYX and even Waka Flocka — while incorporating influences from contemporary rap. This is evidenced in his latest visual, “Right Now” under the direction of Semper Digital. Watch the video up top and purchase the single on iTunes.
