Let’s be honest: if you’re reading this, chances are that you likely did not expect Rae Sremmurd to be here in 2016.

They made their professional debut (nevermind their Dem Outta St8 Boyz days) in 2014, with the cutesy “No Flex Zone.” Although under the guidance of producer Mike WiLL Made It, they were written off as one-hit wonders. I, at a point thought that too… until I saw them debut “No Type” at Trillectro later that summer. The hook had me convinced that the song was going to be a success, and lo and behold it propelled to tripe platinum status.

The duo would release their debut, SremmLife, and keeping it real? It was a pretty solid listen (“This Could Be Us” is my favorite song off the project). But amidst the success, critics still condemned them as a flash-in-the-pants act. So, as a means of proving the naysayers wrong (and landing some extra groupies in the process), Sway Lee and Slim Jxmmi have released their second album Sremmlife 2.

A 14-track affair, the album has features from Kodak Black, Gucci Mane, Lil Jon (on “Set The Roof“), Juicy J, and others. Will the siblings duplicate the success of the original? Only time will tell.
