Joey Bada$$ made his directorial debut this week when he got behind the lens for his “Devastated” visual. Clearly trying to give the song an extra push, the Brooklyn native stopped by The Breakfast Club to talk about the single, its inspiration and more.
“Devastated” is Joey’s most successful radio single yet — it’s reached No. 52 on the Billboard Hot 100 — which has caused some fans to label him as “selling out.” “Fans are very fickle — they just wanna keep you for themselves,” he said in the first couple minutes.
The rest of the interview consisted of Joey talking about the affect of Capital Steez’s death on his career, acting on Mr. Robot and other projects and still living with his mom.
