While admirable, somehow I don’t think that the networks would be very keen on a lightning rod like Kanye West hit the stage of the biggest NFL game of the season.

However, it hasn’t stopped some diehard fans from trying.

Last night (August 14th), fan site Team Kanye Daily launched the hashtag #KanyeWestForSuperBowl51, which soon began trending. The reasons where many: his award accomplishments, because Adele declined, because his family is the second coming of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Several armchair critics bemoaned the not-yet-legitimate possibilities of putting Kanye at Super Bowl LI, which is scheduled for February 5th, 2017, at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

However, this may have been the best (and most prevalent) one, though:

Whether or not ‘Ye does the Super Bowl remains to be seen, but if IKEA already said “nah” then in all likelihood the NFL wouldn’t green-light Kanye; they’re still shook after what Janet Jackson and M.I.A did at Super Bowl XXXVIII and Super Bowl XLVI, respectively. People even complained about Beyoncé’s Super Bowl 50 performance, for having the “gall” to honor the Black Panthers.
