Vince Staples has been one of the most exciting young musicians to come from Long Beach, garnering universal praise for his major label debut album Summertime ’06 in 2015.
The Ramona Park Legend has been teasing details about his forthcoming re-up, Prima Donna, for some time now, and taking to his Twitter account today (August 15th) he formally revealed the cover art and release date for the project: August 26th.
Prima Donna will also be accompanied by a self-titled short film, conceived by Vince Staples and directed by Nabil, who’s worked with the likes of Kanye West, Frank Ocean, and FKA twigs among others.
Vinny has also revealed the tracklist for the EP, a six-song effort that will include features from A$AP Rocky and Kilo Kish. Production will come from No I.D., DJ Dahi and James Blake (so fans will get to hear the André 3000-sampling “War Ready” track in its entirety).
