Jimetta Rose has perused her way around the Los Angeles music scene over the last handful of years, working with the likes of Blu, MED, Anderson .Paak and others.
Rose’s latest effort, The Light Bearer, has her teaming up with Georgia Anne Muldrow, who produced the nine-track exploration into the bright-yet-dusty landscapes of the LA hip-hop and soul scene.
The album is described as “a coming of age tale funneled through the imagination of a jazz romantic whose reality is rooted in the beat heavy soul filling the living rooms of South Central Los Angeles.”
You can cop the album — which is released through Busdriver’s Temporary Whatever label — on Bandcamp before its official release Friday.
