Born, 1/2 of Boston rap duo G-Dot & Born sends a huge salute to fellow Beantowner and Muay Thai kickboxing champion/Boston sheriff deputy “Don” Julio Pena in his latest visual.
Of why he chose to pay homage to Julio, Born explained “Julio is a great example of a stand-up man.” adding “He’s a champion at heart, and he motivates everyone while showing them it’s not how many times you get knocked down, it’s how many times you get back up,” which mirrors the same positive, enlightening messages Born usually implements into his third-eye awakening music.
The video, which is directed by Josh Bliss Lighten & Third Eye Fly, features clips from a few of Julio’s actual fights, interspersed with video footage of the kickboxer training at the Hard Knocks gym in Boston, with an assist by Geo Fendi.
