September 30 is going to be an incredible day for music. Danny Brown, BANKS, Bon Iver are all coming out with new album. But I’m certain there’s a good portion of the DopeHouse most excited for Apollo Brown & Skyzoo‘s The Easy Truth coming out the same day — exactly a month from today.

After announcing the project with a single — “One In The Same” — the duo follow with “A Couple Dollars” featuring Joell Ortiz.

The song has the two emcee telling stories of the difficulties of growing up in Brooklyn over Brown’s emotional, violin-based production.

“Coming up, I saw certain things in my neighborhood, which led to certain aspirations, which led to motivation of all sorts,” Skyzoo told Complex. “This record is about how those things come about, and how they started in the first place, dating back 400+ years ago.”

Apollo Brown continued: “This is one of my personal favorite joints on the album. Two of the best MCs in all of hip-hop breathing life into the same track. They both give a relatable perspective of the wants and the needs in life. Call me biased, but the feeling of the beat was perfect for this song as well. It sounds beautiful like the truth.”
