AlunaGeorge‘s I Remember — finally out in two weeks — is shaping up nicely. “Mean What I Mean” with Dreezy and Leikeli47 is getting steady burn in my personal rotation, and “I’m In Control” featuring Popcaan was just a couple months early (and some good promotion) from being a good anthem for the summer.
The duo’s latest tune, “Mediator,” has them stripping down the tempo compared to their two biggest I Remember singles. The light keyboards and guitars take second fiddle to the slow rimshots of the snare as Aluna arrives as a perfect fit in an intimate jazz room.
She takes the third party role in a relationship of two people whom she cares for, though she’s clearly pulling for a certain side despite her promises that “taking sides is a foolish game.”
