UPDATE: A new Lil Wayne silences retirement rumors with new single, “Grateful.”
Original post…
Many are aware that Kendrick Lamar has cited Lil Wayne as a major influence in his own music career.
So with word came out that Wayne may retire from rap (again…), K. Dot — like many others — was against that notion. During a recent studio session, Kendrick plead his own case against Wayne and rapped over some of Weezy’s vintage beats.
Watch the near four-minute PSA below.
SHAKE EDIT: Seems like the perfect time bring back Dot’s C4 mixtape from 2009. In case you weren’t up on the Compton kid back then, he released a project over Wayne beats with help from Ab-Soul, Jay Rock, Punch, and ScHoolboy Q.
