ScHoolboy Q – “Overtime” f. Miguel & Justine Skye (Video)

blame it on Patrick Glynn September 12, 2016

When ScHoolBoy Q’s Blank Face LP arrived, “Overtime” with Miguel and Justine Skye started some conversations because people misinterpreted Q’s words that the song was “forced” to be on the album. He clarified that it’s not that he didn’t like the song, it’s that he didn’t like where the song was headed at first. But once Miguel and Justine Skye got involved, he liked where the song went.

Nevertheless, the song is one of the more radio-friendly experiences on Blank Face, so it seems like a proper song to get pushed a little more as a single.

Q does that with a video, which — as we probably should come to expect — features more than enough shaking tookuses for one man. He heads to a playground to get his hair cut surrounded by multiple thonged women before heading to a bit calmer (and, to some, prettier) landmark with Miguel and Skye.

This is the seventh video from Blank Face following “Groovy Tony,” “THaT Part,” “JoHn Muir,” “By Any Means,” “Tookie Knows II” and “Black THoughts,” the last three which were a part of the Blank Face short film trilogy.
