Mick JenkinsThe Healing Component arrives in stores on iTunes this Friday. He took to Zane Lowe’ Beats 1 radio show Tuesday afternoon to premiere the third single — “Fall Through” — from the album.

The first half of the song has Mick spitting with a high energy flow about appreciating your work despite outside negativity before a drawn-out bridge drags the tempo down while Mick turns his appreciation toward Chicago rap and the art surrounding his city.

After the song premiered, he talked to Lowe about his writing process, where he dissected his own personal importance of hooks and bridges (noting they’re usually the most popular part of a song) and escaping typical song structures and time signatures.

“Fall Through” follows “Spread Love” and “Drowning” with BadBadNotGood from The Healing Component. Stream the song and interview below, and pre-order the album on iTunes.
