Locksmith Resurrects Drake’s “Hype” Just To Bury It With A Freestyle

At this point, I’ve simply run out of ways to say how dope Locksmith is on the mic. His pen game is unmatched.

With The Lock Sessions dropping at the end of the month, the Bay Area lyricist has been warming up with a series of weekly freestyles. After getting things started on “Black Hole,” he ripped through YG and Drake’s “Why You Always Hatin,” before hitting the streets of NYC with “Grime.”

Now, after sharing “More Lessons” with the longest shout-out on record, Lock’s back with his best drop yet — a two verse destruction of Drake’s “Hype” instrumental. He gets busy off the bat, but once the second verse comes in at the 1:30 mark it’s a wrap. Sheesh.
