With The Easy Truth arriving at midnight, Apollo Brown and Skyzoo revisit “A Couple Dollars” with Joell Ortiz for the project’s first visual.

“When Apollo [Brown] and I first did the song I knew adding Joell [Ortiz] was the perfect person,” Skyzoo shared with Ambrosia For Heads. “The vibe of the song, both lyrically and sonically were right up his alley. The idea of once again ‘gettin’ it’ and figuring out this thing called survival, across the board. Joell is a lyricist like myself so when the meeting of the minds comes through like that it’s bound to be special.”

Special it is. In fact, Joell Ortiz actually got nominated for our Verse Of The Month feature. But, ultimately, took runner-up to André 3000’s “Solo (Reprise)” — a loss he took in stride.

For the video, Skyzoo, Brown and Ortiz take to the streets of Brooklyn to bring “A Couple Dollars” to visual life. Check out the Diego Cruz-directed clip below.
