Toro y Moi is a creative outlet for artist Chaz Bundick. He has another moniker — PLUM — now, and he just released a song under it called “New Globe.”

It’s an eight-minute, synth-laden experience that really just sits there, but after it settles in your ears for a while, you find some melody and beauty in its simplicity.

A description of how the song came to be — and what was used to make it — came with the song on SoundCloud.

“‘New Globe’ was created using the Dave Smith and Tom Oberheim OB-6 synthesizer, and perhaps more specifically inspired by the still-contemporary New Age music of legendary composer Laraaji. The project was set into motion by a hunch from Leaving’s Matthewdavid to participate in the Modern New Age series.”
