New Orleans producer Froyo Ma has frequented the DopeHouse under that name. Soon, though, he’ll start dropping music solely under his real name, Zack Villere, and he’ll keep the name Froyo Ma for songs he produces for other people. Kind of like Mac Miller and his Larry Fisherman persona.

He dropped the last song under the moniker over the weekend called “Home Phone.” It features Nick Hakim singing and providing bass for the tune.

Typically, producers have an image or moment in their life that helps inspire the sound they want to create, and Froyo describe his inspiration on SoundCloud:

“6th grade, beginning of fall, weathers starting to get nice, parents check u out from school bc ur feeling sick so you sit around at home & watch fairly odd parents/daytime tv & drink a pumpkin smoothie.”

Sounds fine to me.
