Kehlani has turned her attention to her debut album, SSS, with its first single, “CRZY,” which has caught some buzz on mainstream R ‘n’ B radio.
While the Bay Area native is living in New York now while putting the finishing touches on the album, she returned home to the radio station that debuted the single —106 KMEL — for a lengthy interview about the album, “CRZY,” her bouts of depressions, protesting the National Anthem (a constant hot topic in the Bay Area, I’m sure) and more.
She also discussed how SSS will be different from her last two mixtapes — You Should Be Here and Cloud 19. Kehlani said those projects were more focused on the writing, while on SSS, she holding the sonic aspects of the project just as high.
