The summer’s coming to an end, but Blu’s “Summertime” will be on repeat — as it has since I first discovered it — into the winter months, back until its warm, roll-the-window-down nature fits the summer again.

That song was my first introduction to Cali singer Arima Ederra, who provided the hook for the Good 2 B Home tune.

While since, her releases have come few and far between — highlighted by songs like “The Boogie Man Song” and “Old New School Love,” Ederra is ramping activity back up with a new tempered, dusty experience, “In My Garden.”

“I’ve been ready to sprout.  As people, sometimes I feel like we can be our biggest obstacles,” she told The FADER, who premiered the single. “The ‘garden’ was a metaphor for me.  At the time that I wrote the song, I felt like I was ready to sprout, yet found myself still coming back to this garden to work on me again and again.  We are ever growing and evolving beings, it’s important to allow ourselves the time and nurture we need to grow.  No matter how much you may frequent the garden, it’s a space for you to come back to you.”

“In My Garden” will land on Ederra’s Temporary Fixes EP, which drops November 15.

You can pre-order the project on Bandcamp, and you can listen to “In My Garden” below.
