I don’t think I’d ever expect Common to join Pitchfork’s Over/Under series, given his personality is quite the opposite of the antics the likes of Rae Sremmurd, ScHoolboy Q and Mac Miller bring to the show.

But one of Chitown’s finest makes his way to the website’s offices for a round of rating everything from Oprah to performing at the White House, being bald, Halloween, Will Smith as a rapper and more.

He was also asked if being produced by Kanye West is underrated and overrated, and he, naturally, said it was underrated. (As if there was ever really any other choice.)

“He’s going to elevate your whole… everything you do,” he said, before telling a story of recording “The Corner” off Common’s Be. Kanye suggested Common’s first take recording the verses were perfect, encouraged The Last Poets to get on the song (which they ultimately did) and came up with the idea for the music video, seemingly all in one session.
