In June, Vic Mensa released his Roc Nation debut, There’s Alot Going On. With seven tracks in the chamber, the Chicago emcee used the time to speak on injustice, police brutality, racism, and everything else going on in this crazy, messed up world.

The most poignant of the bunch was “16 Shots” — which recently received a matching visual (which was somewhat ruined by it being a Tidal exclusive, but whatever) that portrayed another fatal run in with the law.

Now, on the eve of one of the most important elections in the country’s history, Vic is taking his message to late night television with a special performance of “16 Shots” on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Mensa took to the stage with one thing in mind: to make a statement. And the Chicago emcee did just that.

Backed by Travis Barker, Mensa performed the record while fending off people dressed in police riot gear — only to stop the song mid-performance to unload an emotional tirade against Donald Trump.
