I woke up and saw future presidential nominee Kanye West was the top trending topic on Twitter this morning, and unless there was a surprise return of G.O.O.D. Fridays (again), I don’t know how good it was to see him trending.

Spoiler: It was not good.

At a San Jose show Thursday night, Kanye went on a rant about race and classism in America, which, to be honest, isn’t all that surprising given how often he aimlessly rants about society.

Then he delivered the poisonous statement:

This is the same guy who 12 years ago called out George Bush for not caring about black people after Hurricane Katrina. And now he said he’s supporting a man who feels quite the same damn way.

He later continued, “To black people, stop focusing on racism. This world is racist, okay? Let’s stop being distracted to focus on that as much. It’s just a fucking fact — we are in a racist country. Period.”

People in the crowd were seen leaving the show, especially in the pit where Kanye was hovering over with his stage. It got eerily silent, then Kanye asked to “start the next song.”

Can Friday be canceled?
