San Diego-based rapper Ta’East continues to open third eyes and shed light on the challenges Black men and women face in the wilderness of North America.

Following his previous enlightening single “Black Male” earlier this month, Ta’East enlists fellow San Diego artist Young Lyxx and Malik Yusef on “N-Word.”

The Cairo Mayeson-produced single places a magnifying glass over a Janus-faced America and takes a closer look at our country’s obsession with Black culture, appropriation and more, while quoting Paul Mooney’s legendary “Everybody wanna be a n***ga, but nobody wanna be a n***ga” line from The Chappelle Show.

As Ta’East revealed to The Fader: “Everyone draws influence through different circumstances as well as our environments, but we all just want to be understood.”
