Of all of albums releasing throughout this stacked musical weekend (Hamilton, Childish Gambino’s …Awaken, My Love! and John Legend’s Darkness And Light among others), the one on my particular “must-listen” list belongs to Smoke DZA and Pete Rock.

The Kush Gawd and the Soul Brother #1 have kickstarted the musical push of the week with their collaborative effort, Don’t Smoke Rock. An aural throwback to the “old Harlem” as DZA proclaims, the album is a star-studded affair with Dave East (“Limitless”), Rick Ross (“Black Superhero Car“), Wale, Jadakiss and Styles P (“Milestone“), Royce 5’9″, Cam’ron, Mac Miller, Big K.R.I.T. and others showing out. The songs even have those infamous “Pete Rock instrumentals” at their end too.

Stream Don’t Smoke Rock below, and purchase the album on iTunes.

The duo also dropped a video for “Limitless,” with Dave East, which can be seen down bottom.
