While we await the arrival of Ab-Soul’s DWTW (Top Dawg explains the hold up), TDE President Punch has decided to step out of the shadows and into the booth for some microphone therapy.

Early this morning, Punch — who announced that he would continue working on putting the final touches on his debut album — leaked a new song on Twitter dubbed “Gold.”

Over crisp instrumentation provided by Roddie Simmons & Brent, Punch reflects on this cold, callous world we’re living in, digging “deep in his soul to find quotes” of inspiration.

We used to the rain, hoping to wash away these stains
But blood don’t come out of clothes, neither do bullet holes close even if them wounds heal
My mind’s forever exposed to them cold hills, somehow a n*gga had hope still
