Back in 2014, just before the Young Thug phenomenon really enveloped the country, Thugger, Rich Homie Quan — someone whose buzz was pretty similar to Thug’s — and Birdman joined to form Rich Gang.
They dropped a very good mixtape in Tha Tour Pt. 1, which produced songs like “Givenchy,” “Freestyle” and others. But since then, Thugger and Quan’s relationship has gone sour after Quan left Rich Gang to work on solo material and traded insults with Thug at shows for nearly a year.
While it was safe to assume we wouldn’t get a new Rich Gang tape without Jeffery and Quan patching things up, it seems like Birdman is ready to move on.
On Wednesday, Birdman took to Instagram to announce Rich Gang: The Lifestyle 2 with a tentative release date of February 17. He tagged Young Thug in the post but didn’t mention Rich Homie Quan’s name.
We’ll see how things develop between now and February 17, but it looks like we’ll get new Rich Gang with or without Quan.
