Last Thursday, I had a weird rush of nostalgia of mid-00s R&B. Lloyd released a song with Lil Wayne, which reminded me of “You,” and I talked to a friend about Mario because she was listening to “Break Up” with Gucci Mane. That led me to “Let Me Love You,” which has to be one of the best R&B songs I heard before realizing there was R&B music made before 1998.
So it seems, personally, only proper that Mario pops up once again, releasing a new song “Let Me Help You” — notice the similar name to his most popular song — today.
The song will presumably land on his upcoming album, Paradise Cove. It’ll be his first album in nearly eight years.
