On the one-year anniversary of the release of Broad Shoulders, Taylor Bennett returns with his new single, “New York Nights.”

Shortly after the album dropped, Taylor was on a promo run in New York when doctors revealed a blood-clot in his left lung. In the hospital, the Chicago native couldn’t help but think about music. So, he checked himself out and, with the help of Treble (a social discovery app for music makers to connect), he linked up with some like-minded individuals — including Stro and Jordan Bratton — in a studio basement in Brooklyn to bring his ideas to life.

The result? “New York Nights,” the first single off his forthcoming EP.

“It is the culmination of an independent up-and-coming star, an upstart music-tech company, and a diverse collection of artists coming together to create something amazing,” a statement from Treble reads. “And most importantly, it is a testament to the power of creative collaboration.”

On top of the song, Taylor also released an 11-minute visual where he breaks down the health scare and offers footage of the studio session.
