Back in March, Fabolous announced he and Jadakiss were working on a project, Freddy vs. Jason. Now that Loso has released a project (Summertime Shootout 2 — not Young OG Project 2) and Jadakiss returned to his roots with The LOX, it seems they’re finally ready to drop their joint mixtape.
Speaking to 106 KMEL in San Francisco, Fab said that while he won’t be surprising fans Christmas morning with a project (as he had in years past), he will start 2017 prepping Freddy vs. Jason, with something on January 13, which is fittingly Friday the 13th. Maybe this means a single, maybe it means a whole project separate from Freddy vs. Jason, but either way, Fab promises new music from him and Jadakiss next month.
He also said his next album, Young OG Project 2, is currently caught up in a “sample fight,” which led to a conversation about how it’s getting harder to clear sample in hip-hop.
