Well, this is not news we wanted to hear on Christmas Day.
According to multiple reports, rapper Troy Ave was shot in his hometown of Brooklyn while on his way to meet his family for Christmas.
According to Page Six, Troy was “grazed in the head and struck once in the arm” while sitting in a Maserati on East 91st St & Linden Blvd. The shooter walked up to the car and started shooting. Striking Ave twice, before he was able to drive off and hit a local hospital.
Thankfully, the wounds are reportedly not life-threatening and Troy Ave is currently in stable condition.
Scott Leemon, Troy Ave’s attorney, explained to Billboard in a statement: “Tonight, Troy Ave was targeted again… on Christmas.” He continued “In Brooklyn, going to meet his family for the holiday, he was shot two times. Thankfully, he will survive the second attempt on his life. As we have said from the beginning — he is a victim. We pray for his speedy recovery.”
The news comes a mere two days after Troy released his White Christmas 4 mixtape.
Back in May, the Brooklyn rapper was arrested and charged with attempted murder surrounding a shooting that went down at Irving Plaza, unfortunately killing his close friend Banga.
In July, Troy Ave made bail, although the rapper still faces the attempted murder charges. Since then, he’s gone on to release a string of singles, videos and loosies.
We wish Troy and his family the best and that the rapper makes a full recovery.
