This year had a lot of them and it was hell for us to sift through them all to come up with a list of our sixteen favorite verses of 2016. But we did it and you should appreciate that. Obviously, a few favorites were left off the list and you’ll say we are hating. But it’s just insane how many dope rhymes dropped in the calendar year. From JAY Z guiding us through effective money laundering on “Drug Dealers Anonymous” and Dave East delivering an excellent first person narrative on police brutality to Kendrick Lamar blacking out and Black Thought once again proving that he’s arguably the most underrated emcee of all-time, 2016 was stuffed with stellar lyrical outings from hip hop’s finest.
